Interventional Neurologist – Comprehensive Stroke Program
Location: Illinois (Approximately 85 miles from Chicago)
Type: Locum Tenens / Contract (Minimum 7 Consecutive Shifts Required)
Position Overview:
A leading healthcare organization in Illinois is seeking an Interventional Neurologist to support its Comprehensive Stroke Program. This position offers a diverse mix of procedural, inpatient, and outpatient clinic work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment alongside hospitalists, neurosurgeons, and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
Assignment Details:

Schedule: 3 clinic days per week (12-hour clinic days with night call)

Weekends: No clinic; call coverage only

Shift Requirements: Must be available for a minimum of 7 consecutive shifts (longer assignments preferred)

Start Date: As soon as credentialed
Licensure & Requirements:

Active Illinois medical license required
-
IMLC not accepted
-
Must have a clean background
Key Responsibilities:

Perform neurointerventional and endovascular procedures consistent with a comprehensive stroke program

Provide general neurology coverage as needed
-
Manage an inpatient census of approximately 15 patients, including consults, admissions, and ER cases
-
Serve as the primary call contact for CareHub transfer calls related to neurology and neurointerventional cases

Collaborate closely with hospitalists, neurosurgery, and regional referral facilities

Partner with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in a shared neurointerventional/neurosurgery service model
-
Act as a collaborating physician and sign APP collaboration agreements

Supervise APPs providing supplemental coverage based on procedural volume and inpatient census
