Responsibilities
Ideally seeking ONE General Neurologist to provide coverage full-time for a long-term locum assignment - with possibility of more in future.
- 6-12 months +
- possible option for 3 weeks a month for one physician
- 3-4 days a week at AVH in Berlin NH
- 1-2 day per week at UCVH in Colebrook NH and/or N Conway outreach site
- M-F, 8-5 (one hour scheduled lunch 12-1)
- No call
Provides office-based general neurology services to new and established patients (mostly adults and adolescents) including medication management, education and counseling of patients and families, ordering diagnostic tests, referral to related other specialties (e.g., cardiology, orthopedics, pain management, pulmonology, sleep medicine) locally, referral to subspecialty neurologists at tertiary care centers, and communication with PCP’s.
Required:
- Skills to perform (without a technician) and interpret EMG's.
- Skills to interpret EEGs
- Ability to obtain NH perm license quickly (physician must be willing and engaged in completing application, fingerprints, etc ASAP)
- Full payer enrollment required
Most commonly diagnoses encountered are:
- Migraine
- Memory loss
- Essential tremor
- Parkinson’s disease
- Cognitive impairment
- Dizziness
- Epilepsy
- Multiple sclerosis
- Polyneuropathy
- Headache
Partners with other members of neurology team (e.g., radiologist, EEG technologists, MA’s and RN’s, physical therapists).
