Position Overview:
VHS is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Outpatient Neurologist to join our reputable practice in Dothan, AL. This full-time role offers an exceptional opportunity to provide comprehensive neurological care in a collaborative environment, with a focus on outpatient services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide outpatient neurological evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans to adult patients.
- Collaborate closely with the neurosciences team, including neurointerventionalists and neurohospitalists, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Utilize stroke teleneurology services to support acute stroke management.
- Participate in patient follow-up and coordinate care for neuromuscular, rehabilitation, and balance disorders.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation within the electronic medical record system.
- Engage in continuous professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification or eligibility in Neurology.
- State medical licensure in Alabama or ability to obtain licensure.
- Prior experience in outpatient neurology practice preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and clinical skills.
Practice Details & Environment:
- Outpatient-only practice located on Southeastern Health’s campus, with no weekend, call, or holiday duties.
- Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Single-location practice with minimal travel requirements.
- Access to neurorehabilitation services, neuromuscular and balance care, and a dedicated nurse practitioner support team.
