Position: Pediatric Neurologist (Physician)
Assignment: Locum Tenens
Duration: Ongoing
Schedule: 7 consecutive days per month | 24-Hour Inpatient Coverage
Job Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient pediatric neurology coverage in a hospital setting.
- Cover 24-hour shifts from Monday 8:00 AM to the following Monday 8:00 AM.
- Round with the resident team and collaborate with multidisciplinary providers.
- Evaluate and manage patients in the inpatient units, ICU, NICU, Emergency Department, and inpatient consult services.
- Manage an average daily census of 6–12 inpatients.
- Remain on-site during the day with overnight pager call coverage.
- Respond to approximately 4–8 consult and caregiver calls per night.
- Document patient care using Epic EMR.
Qualifications
- MD/DO with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Pediatric Neurology.
- Active South Carolina medical license or ability to obtain before start.
- Prior locum/travel experience preferred.
- Experience providing inpatient pediatric neurology care.
- Comfortable working with resident physicians in an academic environment.
