We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Neurologist to provide inpatient epilepsy coverage for a leading children's hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. This locum opportunity offers a recurring one-week assignment each month, managing patients in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), interpreting EEGs, and providing 24-hour call coverage.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage patients in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU).
• Interpret approximately 8 inpatient EEGs and 10 outpatient EEGs per day.
• Care for an average of 4–6 EMU patients per week.
• Provide on-site daytime coverage with overnight call.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Document patient encounters using Epic EMR.
Qualifications
• Fellowship training or significant experience in Pediatric Epilepsy preferred.
• Active South Carolina medical license or ability to obtain one.
• Clean malpractice and background history preferred for temporary privileges.
• Current DEA (if required by the facility).
Working Hours
• Monday 8:00 AM – Monday 8:00 AM
• 1 week (7 consecutive days) per month
• On-site during the day with overnight call
