At Lehigh Valley Health Network- Cedar Crest, you can provide community care and impact lives of your patients! We are seeking enthusiastic BC/BE Neurocritical Care Physician who has exceptional clinical and interpersonal skills to join our team in beautiful Allentown, PA.

Practice Overview

Neurology at LVHN has experienced significant growth and development during the last several years, and now has over 30 neurologists and more than 20 advanced care providers. Graduate medical education in Neurology at LVHN includes our 5 resident/year ACGME-accredited neurology residency program, our ACGME-accredited vascular neurology fellowship, our ACGME-accredited clinical neurophysiology fellowship, and this year we will be applying for ACGME-accreditation of our new neurocritical care fellowship. This new phase of clinical and educational growth of Neurology at LVHN is being led by Dr. Steven L. Lewis, Editor-in-Chief of Continuum: Lifelong Learning in Neurology.

LVHN has been a Joint Commission-Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center (CSC) since 2012, with Gold Plus elite certification by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association, and with the distinction of having been the third Comprehensive Stroke Center (CSC) to be certified in the nation, the first in Pennsylvania, and recently achieving our fifth Joint Commission CSC recertification. Our mobile stroke unit was the first to go live in Pennsylvania in 2019 and provides our patients with rapid imaging and thrombolytic therapy.

Over 1,500 ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke cases are admitted each year to LVHN making it one of the busiest stroke services in the nation. The hospital has 24-hour coverage for rapid response to all neurologic emergencies. The stroke neurologists and neurocritical care neurologists cover 6 hub telestroke sites in our network. Neurocritical care and stroke care at LVHN are fully supported by our physician team including four neurocritical care neurologists, four vascular neurologists, physician assistants/nurse practitioners, three neurointerventionalists, six neurosurgeons, and 16 neuroradiologists.

Our new neurocritical care colleague can expect:

  • Flexible schedule typically including 1:4 weeks covering the primary neurocritical care unit in our state of the art 14-bed neuroscience ICU
  • Additional rotations including stroke service coverage and ICU consultation service

Job Qualifications:

  • Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neurology and either UCNS or ABPN certified or eligible in neurocritical care
  • A current PA Medical License or ability to obtain one is required
  • H1b Visa candidates will be considered
