Nephrologist Opportunity Location: Knoxville, TN | Full-Time, permanent position Overview: Seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Nephrologist to join a busy, established practice. This opportunity provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care across a broad spectrum of renal services in a collaborative, high-functioning environment. Position Highlights Call schedule: 1 out of 5 weekdays and every 5th weekend Coverage primarily at one hospital, with potential expansion to a second Inpatient hospitalist support 24/7 for admissions Practice includes AKI/CKD care, peritoneal and hemodialysis, CRRT, plasmapheresis, and pre/post kidney transplant follow-up Pathway to partnership and potential medical directorship Monthly travel allowance Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary with bonus opportunities Comprehensive medical insurance and retirement benefits Paid malpractice insurance No visa sponsorship available. Ideal Candidate Board Certified or Board Eligible in Nephrology Strong clinical skills with experience in inpatient and outpatient renal care Team-oriented and collaborative with excellent communication skills Eligible for medical licensure at the University of Tennessee Medical Center A 468-bed tertiary care facility located in downtown Knoxville. Practice Volume
-430 ESRD
-1:5 week-long inpatient coverage, 1:5 weekends
-Non-inpatient weeks: 10-20 office patients/day, 1
day/week with no scheduled patients
-APPs will assist with dialysis rounding in the hospital features: 51 emergency room beds and 72 critical care beds (Cardiovascular ICU, Medical-Surgical ICU, Neuro-ICU) 17 surgery suites and 5 cath labs Specialized centers including a Heart Center, Pulmonary Hypertension Center of Excellence, and Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Hospital Certified by The Joint Commission and CARF, with multiple accreditations in stroke care, cardiology, bariatrics, orthopedics, and maternity services.
