Fellowship-Trained Transplant Nephrologist
Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) is seeking a full-time, fellowship-trained Transplant Nephrologist to join our growing kidney transplant program in Charleston, West Virginia. Our multidisciplinary team includes three transplant surgeons, two transplant nephrologists, two transplant PharmDs, certified clinical transplant coordinators, a transplant dietitian, financial coordinator, and social worker. Together, our team provides comprehensive, patient-centered care throughout the transplant journey.
Since the program was established in 1987 as an affiliate of Cleveland Clinic, CAMC has performed more than 1,700 kidney transplants. We are a high-volume, access-focused transplant center with a strong commitment to timely transplantation. According to SRTR data, CAMC has ranked among the top programs nationally for time to transplant for the last several years.
Position Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Nephrology fellowship
- Completion of a Transplant Nephrology fellowship
- Board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine and Nephrology
Position Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to pre- and post-kidney transplant patients and living kidney donors at CAMC and affiliated locations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary transplant care and biweekly interdisciplinary meetings.
- Collaborate closely with transplant surgeons, nephrologists, pharmacists, coordinators, social workers, dietitians, and other members of the transplant team.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and optimization of transplant outreach and community engagement initiatives.
- Participate in program quality improvement, clinical education, and initiatives designed to improve access and transplant outcomes.
