Schedule & Call:
- Schedule: Monday – Monday coverage (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM daily shifts)
- Call requirement: Nightly beeper/phone call (1:4 call ratio)
- Average call-back volume: Called back approximately 2–3 times per week (2–3 hours per call-back)
- Commitment: 1 block week per month
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide 100% inpatient Level III-B NICU and newborn nursery coverage across two regional facility sites (located 35 miles apart)
- Daily patient volume: Average NICU census of 14 patients; weekend nursery volume up to 20 patients
- Perform standard neonatal procedures, including circumcisions
- Manage critically ill neonates independently with no teaching or formal leadership duties required
Requirements:
- Board Certified in Neonatology / Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
- Active Connecticut state medical license OR active IMLC (in hand at time of submission)
- Active NRP, DEA, and Connecticut Controlled Substance (CSR) certifications
- Ability and willingness to cover both regional hospital sites
- Local or drive-in candidates only (Must be local; travel reimbursement is not provided)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
