Locums | Neonatology | Lancaster, PA (Active PA License Required) Why This Role

  • New Level II NICU
  • Three full-time locums physicians needed
  • Epic EMR
  • Daily census of approximately three infants
  • Defined coverage through June 30, 2027
Assignment Details Start: As soon as credentialed End: June 30, 2027 Setting: Inpatient Level II NICU Three NICU beds Coverage: Full-time scheduled clinical hours plus backup beeper call Daily rounding on all delivered infants Backup call coverage for APPs Beeper-call response time: Approximately 15–30 minutes Approximately 2–6 patients may be seen during coverage Admissions: Approximately zero to one Exact shift times and call rotation require facility confirmation Clinical Scope Level II NICU care required; Level III experience preferred Invasive and noninvasive ventilation BiPAP and CPAP Nitric oxide management Chest-tube insertion Exchange transfusion Hemodialysis catheter placement Central, arterial, and PA catheter placement Lumbar puncture, paracentesis, and thoracentesis Circumcision Attendance at all cesarean deliveries, including high-risk cases Evaluation and management of acute volume and blood-pressure concerns ECMO is not required Support Zero to one NP/PA No resident or teaching supervision required Requirements Board certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Neonatology fellowship training Active Pennsylvania medical license—IMLC is not accepted Current BLS and PALS An additional required certification is listed but not identified and must be confirmed Hospital credentialing required Credentialing Approximately 90 days Temporary privileges are not available Lunch is unpaid and excluded from worked hours Vendor-provided malpractice insurance
