Coverage: Per Diem / Day & Night Coverage
Practice Setting: Level III NICU
Schedule:
- Day: 7:30 AM–5:00 PM — 2 Neonatologists
- Night: 5:00 PM–7:30 AM — 1 in-house Neonatologist
- Coverage needed December 30, December 31, 2026, and January 1, 2027
NICU / Patient Volume:
- 40-bed Level III NICU
- 2025 YTD NICU admissions: 130
- Average NICU daily census: 14.3
- Nursery daily census: 24.2
Services / Procedures:
- High-frequency ventilation (HFOV & HFJV)
- Inhaled nitric oxide
- Therapeutic hypothermia with aEEG
- Pediatric surgical patients
- Nurse-driven transport team with physician oversight
- No ECMO or cardiac surgery, except PDA ligations
Requirements:
- Board Certified in Neonatology
- Recent Neonatology experience
- At least 6 months of clinical experience in the specialty
- Must have been clinically active within the past year
- Virginia medical license
