Facility:

This regional medical center is home to a growing Level III NICU program that is expanding its clinical capabilities and patient services. The facility features an 8-bed Level III NICU and 10 LDR couplet care rooms, supported by a strong multidisciplinary team including Neonatologists, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, and dedicated nursing and respiratory therapy staff.

Opportunity:

Board Certified - Neonatology

Job Details:

  • Provide comprehensive neonatal care in a Level III NICU and newborn nursery
  • Attend and manage high-risk deliveries in collaboration with OB and perinatal teams
  • Deliver patient-centered care to a daily census of approximately 9-11 patients
  • Work within an 8-bed Level III NICU and 10 LDR couplet care rooms
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including 2 Neonatologists, 4.5 Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, and nursing and respiratory therapy staff
  • Mentor and support NICU nursing and respiratory teams as patient acuity grows
  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinical protocols
  • Contribute to strategic growth and expansion of the NICU program
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts
  • Maintain strong communication with hospital leadership and staff
  • Optional participation in moonlighting opportunities across Virginia
  • Flexible week-on/week-off schedule with home call model during assigned week
  • Home call coverage runs 24 hours per day for 7 consecutive days during assigned week, including weekends
  • Virginia Medical License required (or willingness to obtain)
  • Board Certified in Pediatrics required; Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neonatology required
  • This is a permanent, full-time position requiring residency within the immediate local area
  • Relocation may be required; relocation assistance available
