General Summary
Works collaboratively with patients and obstetricians to direct medical care for patients with acute and chronic health problems that may place them at high risk for maternal, fetal, or other pregnancy complications. The Physician will provide consultative inpatient care for women who need to be hospitalized during pregnancy. Physicians will work with obstetricians who request transport of patients to our tertiary care facilities. They will participate in Maternal-Fetal Medicine education and teaching programs, and assist in the review of the quality, adequacy and appropriateness of services within the department.

WellSpan Health is seeking an experienced Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division Director to provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for our growing Maternal-Fetal Medicine program. This leadership opportunity combines clinical practice with the ability to shape the future of maternal-fetal care across a nationally recognized health system.

The Division Director will work closely with Service Line Leadership, hospital leadership, physicians, APPs, and nursing teams to advance high-quality, patient-centered care while driving innovation, standardization, and program growth throughout the continuum of perinatal services.

Leadership Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of Maternal-Fetal Medicine services in alignment with organizational strategic and operational goals.
- Develop and standardize outpatient and inpatient Maternal-Fetal Medicine services across the health system.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of perinatal care policies, clinical pathways, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Serve as the physician leader for the Perinatal Clinical Effectiveness Team, supporting quality, safety, and clinical excellence.
- Partner with department chairs, nursing leaders, and operational teams to optimize patient experience, provider engagement, and operational performance.
- Drive clinical and administrative process improvement initiatives utilizing Lean management principles and data-driven decision making.
- Establish departmental goals, objectives, policies, and procedures that support exceptional patient care and program growth.
- Serve as Site Director for all outpatient Maternal-Fetal Medicine practice locations.

Academic & Educational Leadership
- Provide education and mentorship to medical students, sonography students, genetic counseling students, APPs, residents, and other learners.
- Collaborate with academic partners and trainees to support a strong culture of learning and professional development.
- Remain actively engaged in continuing education, research, and evidence-based practice advancements within Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

Quality & Strategic Initiatives
- Monitor and evaluate key performance measures related to patient experience, clinical outcomes, and financial performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve quality, safety, efficiency, and long-term program outcomes.
- Partner with Service Line Leadership in the development and execution of strategic plans related to obstetric and perinatal care.
- Participate in hospital and community committees focused on maternal and infant health initiatives.
