Job description
TMC Health is seeking an experienced Per Diem Neonatologist to join our established neonatal team at Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona.
This opportunity offers the ability to practice in a collaborative, physician-led environment within a licensed 41-bed Level III NICU supported by Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, dedicated neonatal nursing staff, and pediatric subspecialists. The NICU averages 800 admissions annually with a daily census of 30–35 patients.
This position provides flexible per diem scheduling, a minimum commitment of 48 hours per month, and the opportunity to work alongside medical students, pediatric residents, and family medicine residents.

Job Responsibilities
Attend and manage neonatal patients requiring intensive and intermediate care services
Collaborate with Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, nursing staff, pediatric specialists, and other members of the healthcare team
Participate in patient rounds, care planning, and family communication
Supervise and support trainees, including medical students and residents, when applicable
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
Support quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based neonatal care practices
Participate in shared call coverage and rounding responsibilities
Qualifications
Completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency
Completion of a Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
Eligible for or able to obtain Arizona medical licensure
Experienced Neonatologists preferred
Strong commitment to quality, patient-centered neonatal care
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Working Hours
Minimum commitment of 48 hours per month
Combination of 24-hour call shifts and 8-hour rounding shifts
In-house physician and NNP coverage 24/7
Schedule coordinated with NICU leadership and provider coverage needs
