Neonatologist Opportunity in Wichita, KS
Assignment Details:
Full-time Neonatologist position
Established 8-physician practice within a high-volume regional medical center
7-week rotating schedule with a mix of 8-hour and 24-hour in-house shifts
Approximately 170 hours per month for 1.0 FTE
In-house call with additional backup call from home
Practice Environment:
Level III NICU with 60 beds
Approximately 6,000 annual deliveries
~1,000 NICU admissions per year with an average daily census of 50+
Comprehensive neonatal services available (excluding ECMO and cardiac surgery)
Supported by residents and advanced practice providers
Academic affiliation with a medical school offering teaching, research, and quality improvement initiatives
Collaborative, team-based care model with a focus on continuous quality improvement
Clinical Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive neonatal care in a Level III NICU setting
Manage critically ill and premature newborns
Participate in delivery attendance and neonatal resuscitation
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including pediatric subspecialists and nursing staff
Engage in quality improvement and clinical research initiatives
Supervise and support residents and advanced practice providers
Participate in call rotation and coverage schedule
Candidate Requirements:
MD or DO
Board Certified in Pediatrics (required)
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
Fellowship-trained in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine (completed prior to start)
Active or eligible Kansas medical license
DEA required prior to start
Clean malpractice and licensure history preferred
Open to new fellowship graduates
Visa sponsorship available (J-1 and H-1B)
