ATC West Healthcare is seeking a Full-Time Neonatologist to join the highly respected Level III NICU team in Macon, Georgia. This opportunity offers the ability to practice advanced neonatal medicine in a modern, state-of-the-art NICU while working alongside a collaborative multidisciplinary team and participating in academic teaching through Mercer University School of Medicine. The position combines high-level neonatal care, strong physician support, and an excellent quality of life just outside Atlanta.

Dates / Schedule

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Shared call and rounding schedule designed to support physician collaboration and work-life balance
  • No newborn nursery responsibilities; NICU-focused role only
  • Requires residency within the immediate Macon area; relocation may be required
  • Not accepting locum candidates
  • Accepting J1 visa candidates

Job Details / Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive neonatal care in a 70-bed Level III NICU
  • Manage critically ill and premature newborns requiring advanced therapies
  • Utilize advanced NICU technologies including:
    • High-frequency ventilation
    • Inhaled nitric oxide
    • Total body cooling
  • Practice within one of Georgia’s six designated perinatal/neonatal regional centers
  • Provide care within a Level I trauma center environment
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team consisting of:
    • 7 neonatologists
    • 6 neonatal nurse practitioners (NNPs)
    • Pediatric subspecialists
    • Pediatric surgery support
    • Maternal-fetal medicine specialists
  • Participate in teaching and mentoring opportunities through Mercer University School of Medicine
  • Educate pediatric residents
  • Support evidence-based neonatal care and quality improvement initiatives
  • Deliver family-centered care for infants and families throughout central and South Georgia
  • Contribute to a collegial physician culture focused on mentorship, teamwork, and professional growth

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
  • Active Georgia medical license or willingness to obtain
  • Completion of Neonatology fellowship training required
  • Neonatology experience required; experienced candidates only
  • Clean malpractice and license history strongly preferred
  • DEA required prior to start date
  • NPDB Self-Query report within 30 days required at presentation
  • Must specify whether visa sponsorship is required; J1 sponsorship available
