Inpatient work only
-
Flexible scheduling available with 10, 12, or 14 hour shifts
-
Patient volume: approximately 5–10 patients per day (NICU and Nursery)
-
Rotating call coverage (both phone and on-site)
-
Work in a Level II NICU providing care for infants born prematurely (32–35 weeks gestation) or those with moderate medical complications

Collaborative, team-oriented environment focused on high-quality, family-centered care
Clinical Responsibilities
Neonatal Intensive Care
-
Provide and lead medical management for infants admitted to the Level II NICU
Resuscitation and Stabilization
-
Direct neonatal resuscitation in the delivery room
-
Stabilize high-risk infants and coordinate transfers when necessary
Advanced Procedures
-
Perform neonatal procedures including endotracheal intubation, umbilical line placement, chest tube insertion, and lumbar punctures
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
-
Work closely with NICU nurses, respiratory therapists, pediatricians, and pediatric subspecialists to provide coordinated care
Quality, Safety, and Compliance
-
Support infection prevention, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety programs
-
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with hospital policies
-
Ensure care meets regulatory requirements and professional standards
-
Provide compassionate communication and support to families during stressful situations
Qualifications and Requirements
-
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
-
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatrics residency
-
Completion of a Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship
-
Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics with fellowship training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
-
Active, unrestricted New York medical license
-
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
-
S.T.A.B.L.E. certification preferred
-
Experience managing premature infants greater than 32 weeks gestation and providing intermediate neonatal care
-
Skilled in non-invasive and short-term invasive ventilation and stabilization prior to transfer
-

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $250,000–$260,000
