Facility:
This medical center features a Level III NICU within a Level II Trauma Center, providing comprehensive care for premature and critically ill newborns. The facility utilizes Cerner Care B as its EMR system and has a collaborative environment with nursing staff, family practice residents, laborists, and pediatric hospitalists.

Job Details:
• Provide 24-hour on-call coverage for Level III NICU with patient census between 7-12 daily • Schedule requires coverage from the 11th-20th (ending 21st am) of every month on an ongoing basis • Round in the NICU at least once per day and respond to calls from nursing staff as patient conditions require • Manage ventilatory assistance including ETT CPAP and nasal CPAP • Administer surfactant and cardiac pressors as needed • Manage patients requiring FiO2 greater than 0.60 • Place and manage peripheral arterial lines, central lines, and chest tubes • Provide Total Parenteral Nutrition Hyperalimentation • Perform exchange transfusions when necessary • Care for premature infants with gestational age =32 0/7 weeks and birth weight =1600 grams • Supervise and teach Family Practice Residents during their Nursery rotation • Must be California Children Services (CCS) paneled member • Must have substantial recent experience in neonatology services • Must maintain active California medical license with clean malpractice history • Required certifications include BLS, NRP, and DEA • Orientation provided the business day prior to shift
