Facility:
This facility is a designated Children's Hospital within a hospital and is one of only 8 Children's Hospitals in Minnesota. The facility features a Level III NICU with 18 private rooms, averaging 330 admissions per year. It provides highly specialized, regional pediatric care with a multidisciplinary approach and patient-family centered focus. The facility boasts the region's only Level III NICU, Pediatric Hospitalist service, PICU, Pediatric Cancer Center, Pediatric Therapy Center, inpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation unit, and pediatric behavioral health and substance abuse treatment center.
Opportunity: NP - Neonatology
Join a collaborative team of 7 Physicians, 1 Neonatal Hospitalist, 4 NNPs, 1 PA, and an outstanding nursing staff in a well-established NICU environment. This position offers the chance to work with a facility that maintains strong relationships with Level IV NICUs in the Twin Cities area and participates in quality initiatives including the Vermont Oxford Network database.
Job Details:
- Utilize advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills to provide comprehensive neonatal care
- Work independently and in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Provide 24/7 in-house coverage as part of a dedicated team
- Participate in the active Neonatal Transport Team serving MN, WI, and MI via air and ground
- Perform specialized procedures including intubation, chest tube insertion, invasive lines placement
- Maintain NRP certification and skills
- Emphasize health promotion and disease prevention in patient care
- Contribute to a multidisciplinary approach with close working relationships with specialists, Child Life Specialists, pediatric Pharmacists, Dieticians, Behavioral Specialists, and Therapists
Requirements include a Master's degree in nursing, current licensure as a registered nurse and Nurse Practitioner in MN and WI, national certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, and current CPR/NRP certification.
