Coverage: Call Only
EMR: Epic
Practice Setting: Inpatient
Schedule:
- 24-hour beeper call
- October 16, 6:00 AM – October 19, 6:00 AM
- Call response time: 20–30 minutes
- Approximately 80% NICU / 20% Pediatrics
- NICU patients down to 32 weeks
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Newborn resuscitation
- Management of 32-week preterm infants and above
- Neonatal airway management, including intubation
- Neonatal air leak/pneumothorax management and needle decompression
- Emergent UVC placement in the delivery room
- UVC/UAC placement
- Lumbar puncture
- EKG interpretation
- Ventilator management
- Pediatric/neonatal care
Requirements:
- Pediatric Hospitalist with neonatology experience or Neonatologist comfortable seeing pediatric patients
- Board Certified or Board Eligible within 3–5 years of residency
- Active California medical license
- DEA required
Licenses Required:
- California medical license
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS
- NRP
Preferred:
- Ventilator management
- Chest tube insertion in neonates
