Med Ninjas is seeking a Neonatology Physician for long term coverage at a inpatient facility located in Spartanburg, SC
This assignment includes Inpatient, onsite hospital coverage, advanced neonatal care and high-frequency ventilation and therapeutic hypothermia, and on call weekend coverage.
Permanent locum tenens Neonatology Physician
Shift: Rotating schedule with one week of 24/7 NICU inpatient service coverage followed by one week off-service, including night call responsibilities during active service weeks in a continuous 24-hour Level III NICU environment.
Position Details: 35-bed Level III NICU; average daily census of 25–29 infants; approximately 370–400 annual NICU admissions and 3,400–3,900 deliveries per year; one week of 24/7 NICU service followed by one week off-service.
Patient Population: Neonatal patients, including premature and critically ill newborns requiring advanced respiratory and therapeutic interventions.
Setting: Inpatient Level III NICU and well-baby service.
Responsibilities: Comprehensive neonatal care; daily NICU management; well-baby rounding two weeks per month in collaboration with the Family Medicine Residency Program; family-centered care; multidisciplinary collaboration; leadership within a regional referral center.
Required Procedures: High-frequency ventilation, therapeutic hypothermia, comprehensive neonatal interventions and management.
EMR System: -
Support Staff: 4 Neonatologists; 24/7 Neonatal Nurse Practitioner coverage; Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Surgery, Ophthalmology, and Maternal-Fetal Medicine support.
Days Per Month: Rotating schedule with one week of service followed by one week off-service.
On-Call/Weekends: Every other night call during on-service weeks; weekend coverage required on a rotating basis during on-service weeks.

Requirements
- TRULY Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine – REQUIRED
- South Carolina Medical License or willingness to obtain – HIGHLY PREFERRED
- Neonatology training/fellowship – REQUIRED, no exemptions
- Clean Malpractice/License History – HIGHLY PREFERRED
- Neonatology experience – REQUIRED, experienced candidates only
