Step into a high-impact Emergency Medicine leadership role overseeing a major adult and pediatric emergency department with a strong academic mission. This exclusive opportunity combines clinical emergency medicine with department-wide administrative and academic leadership, giving an experienced EM physician the opportunity to shape operations, residency and fellowship education, physician performance, and long-term departmental growth.
The department sees more than 110,000 annual ED visits, supported by approximately 75 physicians, 46 APPs, experienced nursing teams, residents, and advanced diagnostic capabilities. The environment includes adult and pediatric Level I trauma services, an established EM residency program, specialty transport capabilities, and comprehensive emergency and referral services.

Job Responsibilities
โข Direct clinical operations, physician performance, patient throughput, and departmental initiatives
โข Provide academic leadership for emergency medicine residency and fellowship programs
โข Collaborate with hospital departments, medical staff leadership, and executive administration
โข Drive quality improvement, education, operational excellence, and long-term departmental development
Qualifications
โข Board Certified in Emergency Medicine through ABEM or AOBEM
โข Extensive Emergency Department Director and academic Emergency Medicine leadership experience
โข Approximately 15 years of ED Director and ED academic experience
โข Eligible for New Jersey medical licensure
โข Ability to obtain hospital privileges and complete credentialing requirements
โข Strong clinical, academic, administrative, and physician leadership background
Working Hours
โข Remaining time dedicated to administrative, academic, and departmental leadership responsibilities
โข Expected start as soon as credentialing and hospital privileges are completed
โข Typical hospital credentialing timeline: approximately 3โ4 months
