Maternal-Fetal Medicine (Perinatology) Opening in TN Located in Knoxville, TN Position Overview

  • Full-time Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) opportunity in Knoxville, Tennessee
  • Anticipated start date in 2027
  • Join an established perinatal practice replacing a retiring physician
  • Work alongside four experienced Perinatologists, including one Board Certified in Genetics
  • Hospital-employed position with the autonomy and flexibility of an independent practice
  • Provide comprehensive care for high-risk pregnancies, including prenatal management, consultations, and perinatal ultrasound services
  • Opportunity to pursue specialized clinical interests within the group
  • Affiliated with a regional medical center performing approximately 4,000 deliveries annually
Practice Highlights No in-house call Provide prenatal care for high-risk pregnancies in collaboration with Nurse Practitioners Option to participate in deliveries or have associated OB/GYN physicians manage labor and delivery Collaborate with 12 OB/GYN physicians associated with the practice Provide Maternal-Fetal Medicine consultations and perinatal ultrasound services for referring OB/GYN physicians Join a multidisciplinary team including seven Nurse Practitioners, four Genetic Counselors, three Certified Diabetes Educators, and 15 Perinatal Sonographers Main office and three satellite locations providing ultrasound and consultation services Group supervises maternal transport services at five additional regional hospitals Close collaboration with a neighboring children's hospital and its Neonatology team Access to comprehensive maternal and neonatal services for complex pregnancies Established practice with more than 35 years of service to the community Physician-led practice management with the resources and support of a large healthcare system Qualifications MD or DO degree Completion of an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency Completion of a Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal-Fetal Medicine Tennessee medical license or eligibility for licensure Strong interest in high-risk obstetrics and comprehensive maternal care Commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration and patient-centered care Interest in continuing the growth and development of an established perinatal program Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation package Employee and family health insurance Dental and vision insurance options Paid time off CME stipend 401(k) retirement plan with 6% employer match, subject to applicable limits $750,000 employer-paid supplemental life insurance Paid malpractice insurance Paid medical license fees, professional dues, and subscriptions Relocation assistance Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility for qualifying full-time employees Additional compensation details to be discussed About Knoxville, TN Located along the Tennessee River near the Great Smoky Mountains Affordable cost of living, approximately 15% below the national average No state income tax on wages Home to the University of Tennessee Vibrant downtown with restaurants, entertainment, and cultural attractions Excellent public and private school options Abundant outdoor recreation, including hiking, boating, fishing, and cycling Convenient access to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Family-friendly communities offering a balance of urban amenities and small-town charm
