Locums | Maternal-Fetal Medicine | Anchorage, AK (active AK license) Why This Role

  • Long-term assignment through January 2028
  • Commitment of only 1‚Äì2 weeks per month
  • Consultative MFM role with backup call
  • Deliveries are not required
  • Dedicated clinical and administrative support
Assignment Details Start: January 1, 2027 End: January 1, 2028 Setting: Inpatient and outpatient Coverage commitment: At least 1–2 weeks per month EMR: Epic Level II facility Provider must work onsite Hospital privileges required Schedule and Call Clinic: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Weeknight beeper call 24-hour weekend beeper call Call functions as backup to the primary virtual-call provider Final call schedule and duties will be based on the physician’s skill set Call response time: 20 minutes Clinical Scope Consultative support for OB physicians Performance and interpretation of obstetric ultrasounds required Level II/targeted ultrasound Fetal echocardiography Management of high-risk maternal and fetal conditions Pregnancy-induced hypertension and HELLP syndrome Type I, Type II, and gestational diabetes Maternal cardiac, pulmonary, renal, neurologic, autoimmune, hematologic, and oncologic disorders Placenta previa and abruption Multiple gestations Amniocentesis, cervical cerclage, fetal blood sampling, and chorionic villus sampling Intrauterine transfusion and multifetal pregnancy reduction preferred Deliveries are not required, but delivery experience is strongly preferred Support 1 RN 1.5 MA FTEs 1 APP 3 office staff members No APP supervision or teaching responsibilities Requirements Board certification in Maternal-Fetal Medicine Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship training Active Alaska medical license Active DEA Current ACLS and BLS certifications Must perform and interpret obstetric ultrasounds Availability for at least 1–2 weeks per month Credentialing Estimated timeframe: 60–90 days Current CV required with submission Temporary privileges are not available
