Job description

Job description
Full-time; Tallahassee, FL

We are seeking a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician to join the only MFM practice in Tallahassee — a full-scope, hospital-integrated role serving one of North Florida's busiest delivery programs, backed by a growing academic health partnership with FSU.

The Perks

  • Lucrative Earning Potential: Competitive compensation — expected total compensation up to $550K+ in a hospital-employed model with a full-scope procedural and diagnostic practice.
  • No Deliveries Required: A full-scope MFM role without the delivery burden — inpatient and outpatient coverage designed for sustainable, long-term practice.
  • Generous Benefits Package: Health, Dental, Vision, Short and Long-Term Disability, 403(b) and 457(b) retirement plans.
  • CME and Professional Development: Dedicated CME budget, paid license and certification fees, and covered professional society memberships.
  • Full Financial Protection: Malpractice with tail coverage and relocation assistance.
  • Academic Without the Overhead: Grow with FSU College of Medicine as we join forces with FSU Health — teaching, research, and clinical partnerships available as much or as little as fits your goals.

The Opportunity
  • Elevate Your Practice: Step into the only MFM practice in Tallahassee — serving a hospital with over 3,600 births annually. The referral base is built, the volume is there, and the community need is real.
  • Full-Scope Procedural Practice: Advanced diagnostics and procedures including genetic counseling, first screen genetics, fetal echocardiography, NST/BPP, chorionic villus sampling, amniocentesis, and comprehensive obstetric ultrasound.
  • Grow With a Region: TMH serves a 21-county area across North Florida, South Georgia, and South Alabama — a vast, underserved footprint where your subspecialty expertise has outsized impact.
  • Advance Through Innovation: A new $125 million FSU Health building opens in 2026 — housing clinical trials, precision health, digital health, and a family medicine residency. Be part of what comes next.
  • Streamlined Clinical Environment: Clinic attached directly to the hospital — seamless rounding, efficient patient transitions, and no fragmented coverage across multiple sites.
  • Join an Established Colleague: Join one existing MFM physician in a collaborative, collegial environment with the full infrastructure of a 500-bed, not-for-profit health system behind you.

Living in Tallahassee, FL

  • Affordable Florida: Low cost of living compared to Miami, Tampa, and Orlando — with all of the Florida lifestyle and none of the price tag. Your income goes substantially further here than in any other major Florida market.
  • The Other Florida: Rolling hills, canopy roads draped in Spanish moss, a vibrant university community, and Southern hospitality that surprises every candidate who visits.
  • Coastal Access: Thirty minutes from the Gulf of Mexico. World-class beaches without living on top of them.
  • Capital City Energy: Home to FSU, FAMU, and the seat of state government — a mid-sized city with outsized culture, dining, arts, and community.

What You'll Bring
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal-Fetal Medicine
  • Eligible for Florida medical license
  • A commitment to high-risk obstetric care in a community that genuinely needs it
  • Passion for academic collaboration and regional impact
