Canton, Ohio | Flexible Schedule | Medical H&P Coverage

Position Overview

A behavioral health facility in Canton, Ohio is seeking a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to provide medical support for patients receiving behavioral health services.

The primary need is completion of medical History & Physicals (H&Ps), with the opportunity for the role to include direct medical care, FNP supervision, or a combination of both depending on the physician’s preferences and facility needs.

This is a flexible opportunity for a physician who enjoys providing focused medical care without managing a traditional primary care patient panel.

Job Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive medical History & Physicals for behavioral health patients.
Evaluate general medical conditions and identify potential medical concerns.
Provide appropriate medical recommendations and follow-up as needed.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, nursing staff, FNPs, and other members of the treatment team.
Support medical assessment and clearance for admissions when appropriate.
Provide medical oversight and supervision of FNPs if applicable.
Help establish the appropriate balance of direct patient care and medical supervision based on facility needs.

Behavioral health
Psychiatric facilities
Detox
Residential treatment
Inpatient medicine
Hospital medicine
Correctional medicine
PHP/IOP
Facility-based medicine
Medical H&P/clearance services
