Medical Director – Ambulatory Care

Take the lead in shaping high-quality, community-focused primary care as a Medical Director with a well-established, multi-site community health organization in New York City. This is a rewarding leadership opportunity for a physician ready to blend clinical practice with meaningful administrative impact.

What You'll Do:

• Establish and maintain the highest standards of medical care across ambulatory services
• Recruit, supervise, and evaluate medical staff, including internists, family practitioners, mid-level providers, and specialists
• Oversee laboratory and radiology services, plus related vendor contracts
• Maintain a personal patient panel as time allows
• Collaborate with mental health, nutrition, dental, and other clinical teams to ensure integrated care
• Coordinate with local hospitals and outside facilities to support continuity of care
• Establish and update medical protocols across all practice areas
• Lead Quality Improvement Committee activities and chart/medical care reviews
• Monitor patient access, staff productivity, and cost-efficiency of services
• Coordinate clinical staff training and prepare health services reporting
• Participate in budget planning and represent clinical services at Board and community meetings
• Provide rotational afterhours call coverage

What You'll Bring:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO)
• Active New York medical license
• Board certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• Minimum of 5 years of combined clinical and administrative experience in an ambulatory care setting
• Bilingual (English/Spanish or another language) strongly preferred
• Prior experience in a multi-site FQHC or similar healthcare setting preferred
