Duration: 3+ Months (Potential for Long-Term)
Pay Rate: $120/hr- $145/hr (Depending upon experience).
Job Summary: Part-time physician/medical director role (16–24 hours/week) responsible for overseeing medical care at developmental centers, serving as primary care physician, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams and Certified Nurse Practitioners, managing medical policies and complex cases, and supporting infection control, public health, and statewide healthcare programs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and coordinate medical care for residents of both developmental centers.
• Establish medical policies and procedures consistent with ICF/IID standards.
• Work with interdisciplinary teams to address residents’ health and safety needs.
• Order medications, diagnostic testing, treatments, and referrals as needed.
• Serve as primary care physician for designated residents, including examinations, diagnosis, treatment, prescriptions, and documentation.
• Collaborate with Certified Nurse Practitioners at each facility.
• Consult with facility committees and medical, developmental-disability, and legal professionals.
• Direct systems and medical policies for children with special health care needs.
• Serve as medical director for infectious disease control and related statewide surveillance activities.
• Supervise medical, medical support, health/human services, and healthcare personnel.
• Formulate and implement medical policies on behalf of the agency director.
• Provide complex medical or psychiatric care and clinical laboratory services.
• Assist with public health problems, disease outbreak investigations, and evaluation of infectious disease conditions.
• Oversee medical aspects of maternal and child health services block grants and resource allocation proposals.
• Provide medical consultation, establish standards of care, and participate in statewide healthcare planning.
Required Qualifications:
• Doctoral Degree
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) Certification.
• COVID vaccine card or exemption letter.
• Drug Enforcement Administration certification.
• Ohio physician medical license
