Outpatient Internal Medicine | Start Date: October 19, 2026

WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking an Internal Medicine MD/DO for an outpatient resident-staffed clinic in Maryland. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and providing evidence-based care in an ambulatory setting.

Assignment Highlights

• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• Estimated Shifts: Approximately 20 shifts/month
• Schedule:
  • 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM
  • 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
• Four half-day sessions per week providing direct supervision and precepting of Internal Medicine residents
• Approximately 10–14 patients per half-day session, staffed with residents
• No solo coverage — physician will work alongside residents
• No call
• EMR: Epic
• Diverse outpatient patient population
• Opportunity to mentor, coach, and evaluate Internal Medicine residents
• Prior precepting experience preferred
• Drive-in/local candidates preferred
  

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and precept Internal Medicine residents in the outpatient clinic
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care in an ambulatory setting
• Diagnose and manage a broad range of medical conditions through comprehensive evaluation and clinical assessment
• Prescribe and manage medications, therapies, and treatment plans
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and care plans
• Mentor and serve as a trusted advisor to Internal Medicine residents
• Conduct formal and informal resident evaluations
• Provide meaningful feedback and guidance to support resident development

Schedule Options

Full-Time:

• 9 half-day clinical sessions per week
• 1 half-day administrative session per week

Part-Time:

• 4 half-day clinical sessions per week
• No administrative half-day required

Requirements

• MD/DO
• ABIM Board Certified
• Active Maryland Medical License — required
• Maryland DEA
• Maryland CSR
• BLS
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• IMLC candidates will NOT be considered
• Must be able to complete the credentialing application quickly
• Credentialing application turnaround is approximately 3 business days
• Prior resident precepting experience preferred
