This regional medical center is a well-established acute care facility serving the East Texas community with a comprehensive range of inpatient and specialty services. The facility operates at a Level 3 trauma designation and provides strong support for consulting physicians managing inpatient, ED, and transfer cases.Opportunity:
Physician (MD) - Internal Medicine - GastroenterologyJob Details:
- Assignment dates: October 2, 7am – October 12, 7am
- Will see inpatient consults, ED consults, and transfers
- Active Texas medical license required
- Board certification required (Certified minimum)
- ACLS certification required
- Credentialing timeframe approximately 10 days
- Perform upper GI endoscopy including with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser), and injection of varices
- ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) – Diagnostic and Therapeutic
- Upper GI endoscopy with PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy)
- Esophageal dilatation/manometry and esophageal manometry interpretation
- Small bowel biopsy
- Lower GI endoscopy including sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid)
- Colonoscopy with biopsy and excision of polyp
- Liver biopsy
- Insertion and management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube
- Nearest airport: Gregg County Airport
