Job description

Job description Provides comprehensive primary healthcare, including examinations, diagnosis, treatment, counseling, referrals, follow-up care, and coordination of clinical services.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary medical care and interpret laboratory/diagnostic results.
• Consult with Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Midwives, and Physician Assistants.
• Provide telephone consultation to patients and families.
• Maintain clinical records, reports, protocols, and statistical data.
• Support laboratory, pharmacy, emergency, imaging, and specialty referral services.
• Participate in after-hours, weekend call, and/or hospital inpatient coverage.
• Develop and implement Health Center programs and projects.
• Participate in quality assurance, committee activities, and in-service education.
• Obtain hospital admitting privileges or use hospitalist/inpatient services.
• Precept medical, nurse practitioner, and physician assistant students/residents.
• Participate in community health activities and other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Active Missouri medical license in good standing.
• DEA and Missouri BNDD licenses required.
• Medicare and Medicaid provider enrollment, including UPIN.
• Board eligible or board certified preferred.
• Completion of primary care residency preferred.
• Experience or strong interest in urban community healthcare preferred.

Working Hours

• Scheduled patient-care hours.
• Participation in weeknight/weekend after-hours coverage and/or hospital rounds as required.

• Diagnostic test and laboratory interpretation.
