Job Title: Medical Officer on Duty
Shift: 5 pm to 8 am; available days: Monday to Thursday ( 15-hour schedule)
PRN opportunity**
Shift: 5 pm to 8 am; available days: Monday to Thursday ( 15-hour schedule)
Average 3 to 4 shifts each month, as you are available
Contract length - 12 months or longerPRN opportunity**
Job Responsibilities
Initial history and physical examination
Evaluation for admission
Initial diagnosis
Devise an initial treatment plan and make recommendations for treatment
Sign admission certificates
Perform admission history and physicals
Order lab studies
Provide follow-up evaluations and care to recipients
Document exam results and treatment plans
Attend to employee work-related injuries before hospital referral
Respond to resident emergencies (whether medical or psychiatric)
Consult with attending physicians and psychiatrists as necessary
Make referrals to the acute hospital
Sign and review restraint or seclusion orders
Provide on-call services
Qualifications
Current Illinois license
Current Illinois Controlled Substance certificate
Current DEA certificate
Mantoux skin test before starting work or documentation of negative Mantoux within the last 90 days
Experience in a mental health setting preferred
Board eligible/Board certified in their specialty.
