Medix Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Wound Care Physician for flexible, ongoing locum coverage with a well-established, full-scope wound care facility in the Greater Houston, Texas area. This is a great supplemental income opportunity for a physician looking for flexible shift work with a strong hourly rate and no long-term commitment required.

Compensation

• $160/hr
• All expenses fully covered — airfare, housing, and rental car or mileage

Assignment Details

• Setting: Full-scope outpatient wound care facility | Greater Houston, TX
• Schedule: Sporadic shifts based on provider availability | Approximately 10–15 shifts per month
• Coverage: Ongoing throughout the remainder of 2026
  

What You'll Be Doing

• Perform full-scope wound care procedures including:
• Wound debridement
• Decuffing skin grafts
• Advanced dressing application
• Bioengineered skin application
• Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT)
• Cast application
• Work alongside an on-site NP who can assist with procedures
• Evaluate and treat complex and chronic wounds including diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries, venous and arterial ulcers, and surgical wounds
• Document wound staging, measurements, and treatment progress accurately

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in Primary Care or Internal Medicine
• Active Texas medical license
• Active DEA and Controlled Substance Registration (CSR)
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications
• Full-scope wound care experience preferred
• Clean licensure record preferred

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT):

• HBOT certification is not required — the facility offers an onsite certification course for interested providers!
