HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital is seeking an experienced Internal Medicine Hospitalist Chief to lead a high-performing team at our 290-bed Level II Trauma and Regional Referral Center. Job Responsibilities
Manage complex, high-acuity patients, including ICU-level care
7-on / 7-off 12-hour shifts—built for sustainability and work-life balance
No code or trauma activation responsibility (dedicated code & trauma teams)
Academic engagement with support of an Internal Medicine Residency Program
Practice at a Level II Trauma Center with strong specialty backup
Qualifications
Active Florida medical license and DEA
Prior Hospitalist leadership and practice experience
Strong interest in team development, quality, and operational excellence
Comfortable managing ICU patients (procedural support available)
Preferred experience with Meditech EMR
Working Hours
On-site 7a–7a coverage, including nights and weekends during scheduled block
Daily Census: ~25 patients per provider
Admissions: ~30 daily hospitalist admissions
Hospitalists do not run codes
