Duration: 6 months to long term
Job Summary
The Physician Administrator 3 is responsible for overseeing the medical care provided to residents in developmental centers by planning, coordinating, and directing the delivery of medical services. This role ensures that all medical policies and procedures comply with standards
The position also serves as a Primary Care Physician for designated residents and works closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
• Medical Leadership & Administration
• Oversee medical care provided to residents in developmental centers.
• Plan, coordinate, and direct the delivery of medical services.
• Establish and implement policies and procedures related to medical care in accordance with ICF/IID standards.
• Supervise medical staff, healthcare professionals, and support personnel.
• Formulate and implement medical policies and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
Clinical Responsibilities
• Serve as the Primary Care Physician for designated residents by:
• Conducting physical examinations
• Diagnosing and treating medical conditions
• Monitoring patient responses to medications and treatments
• Writing prescriptions and medical orders
• Completing required medical documentation
Committee Participation
• Participate in and provide consultation to facility committees including:
• Admission and Discharge
• Unusual Incident Review
• Infection Control
• Emergency Preparedness
• Medication Review
• Human Rights
Program Oversight & Public Health Support
• Provide medical consultation to healthcare programs and services.
• Assist in investigations of disease outbreaks or medical incidents when required.
• Support healthcare planning initiatives and development of healthcare programs and services.
Required Documents
• Healthcare Professional CPR Certification
• Active Ohio Medical License
• Copy of Board Certification
• DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) Certification
