Job description Internal Medicine Residency Program Director opening in Mississippi Located in Hattiesburg, MS Full-time; Permanent Hospital-Employed Leadership Opportunity No Visa Sponsorship Overview: * Seeking Board Certified Internal Medicine physician * Program Director role for Internal Medicine Residency * Program launch planned for 2027 * 18 residents total, 6 per year * Existing GME infrastructure with Emergency Medicine and Transitional Year programs in place * Lead development of program vision, mission, and curriculum * Oversee ACGME accreditation process and compliance * Recruit, appoint, evaluate, and retain faculty leadership * Lead resident interviews and selection process * Participate in didactics, lectures, journal clubs, M&M conferences, simulation, and research activities * Ensure residents receive appropriate supervision, clinical training, and formal evaluations * Provide mentorship and structured feedback throughout training --- Compensation & Benefits: * Competitive compensation package * Leadership stipend * Relocation assistance * Medical loan repayment assistance * Paid malpractice insurance * Comprehensive health benefits * 401(k) retirement plan * CME allowance * PTO --- Facility Highlights: * 211-bed regional referral hospital * Established GME platform * Accredited Chest Pain Center * Strong cardiology and heart failure programs * Robotic-assisted surgical services * High clinical volume with diverse case mix * Growing specialty footprint and institutional support --- Requirements: * MD or DO * Board Certified in Internal Medicine * Completion of U.S. residency training * Eligible for Mississippi medical license * Prior administrative and/or academic leadership experience * Strong interest in teaching and mentoring residents * Knowledge of ACGME program requirements --- About the Area: Hattiesburg, MS is a vibrant regional hub in South Mississippi serving a population of approximately 150,000+.
