Physician – Region 1
Location: Lima, OH 45802
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5 days / 8-hour shifts (flexible based on facility needs)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Duration: Minimum 6 months (with potential for extension)
Education Required: Doctoral Degree (MD or DO)
Position Overview
We are seeking a board-eligible or board-certified Physician in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine with experience in primary care or hospital medicine. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity within a secure facility setting serving an adult male population, including some specialty populations (e.g., dementia and developmentally disabled patients).
The selected physician will collaborate with nurse practitioners and interdisciplinary staff. No nights, weekends, or on-call coverage required.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide routine and emergency medical care
• Perform examinations, diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions
• Prescribe medications and administer treatments
• Perform minor procedures as appropriate
• Conduct physical examinations as required
• Interpret laboratory results and diagnostic findings
• Prepare medical evaluations, reports, and summaries (admission, discharge, etc.)
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records
• Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and quality care planning
Patient Volume: Approximately 2.5 patients per hour
Required Qualifications
• Active Ohio Medical License
• Board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine
• Experience in primary care or hospital medicine
• Healthcare Provider CPR Certification
• Eligibility to practice medicine in the State of Ohio
