A federally qualified health center in southeast Massachusetts with 50 years of history has an opening for a Chief Medical Officer. The Health Center offers comprehensive care, including adult/pediatric medicine, dental care, behavioral health services, chronic disease management, nutrition counseling, substance use recovery services, interpreter services, WIC services, laboratory services, and imaging services.

About the Opportunity:

  • 30 hours of administrative time and 10 hours of clinical
  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to align clinical strategy with access goals, staffing models, financial sustainability, and enhancement of reimbursement efforts, and service line growth.
  • Support recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies for clinicians; strengthen onboarding and professional development pathways.
  • Collaborates closely with the Chief Dental Officer to support integrated medical and dental care, including medical consultations for dental patients, development of shared emergency and medical clearance protocols, bidirectional referrals, and coordinated quality improvement initiatives. The CMO provides medical leadership to ensure safe, timely, and coordinated care for medically complex dental patients and supports integration efforts that advance whole-person care.
  • The CMO partners closely with the CFO to align clinical excellence with financial stewardship, collaborating on budgeting, service line strategy, productivity, revenue optimization, and data-driven decision-making across medical, operational, and finance teams.
