Internal Medicine Physician – Outpatient Only (MD/DO)
Position Summary
The Outpatient Internal Medicine Physician provides comprehensive primary care to adult patients in an ambulatory setting. This role focuses on preventive care, diagnosis, and longitudinal management of acute and chronic medical conditions, emphasizing continuity of care, evidence-based practice, and patient-centered outcomes without inpatient responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care to adult patients

Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute illnesses and chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, and endocrine disorders

Perform preventive care services including annual wellness visits, health screenings, immunizations, and risk-reduction counseling

Develop and implement individualized treatment and care plans

Manage medication therapy and monitor treatment effectiveness

Coordinate care with specialists, ancillary services, and community resources

Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, medications, lifestyle modification, and disease prevention

Ensure continuity of care and appropriate follow-up

Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record

Participate in quality improvement, population health, and patient safety initiatives

Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
Qualifications
-
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school

Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program

Board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine

Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure

DEA registration or eligibility

Work Environment

Weekday clinic schedule with no inpatient responsibilities
