Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician – Pre-Operative Assessment & Medical Optimization
Location: Austin, TX

Position Overview
This role supports a multidisciplinary Pre-Operative Assessment and Medical Optimization program focused on improving surgical outcomes through comprehensive pre-surgical risk assessment and disease optimization. The physician will evaluate patients preparing for surgery, collaborate with specialists, and support ongoing management for patients with complex or uncontrolled medical conditions.

Responsibilities
* Conduct pre-operative medical risk assessments for patients undergoing procedures requiring anesthesia
* Identify and manage uncontrolled or high-risk chronic health conditions
* Develop individualized medical optimization plans
* Collaborate closely with specialists, pharmacists, and dietitians
* Provide direct patient care through clinic visits and telehealth
* Supervise advanced practice providers, students, residents, and fellows
* Communicate clinical recommendations clearly to referring providers
Qualifications
* Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
* Experience managing complex or chronic medical conditions
* Strong understanding of perioperative risk assessment and optimization
* Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
* Commitment to patient-centered, team-based care
