We are growing again! We are in need of a physician in an area of Critical Need (ACN) who will be responsible for providing continuing and comprehensive medical care and health maintenance to a senior panel of patients. IMA’s BC/BE or ACN Licensed physician exercises outstanding diagnostic services, concern for their patients and provides them with appropriate healthcare services that meet state and national standards of care.
Job Responsibilities
• Orders appropriate diagnostic tests, interprets results, and communicates appropriate treatment options to patients. May refer patient to medical specialist or another practitioner when necessary.
• Reviews and maintains patients' records and medical histories in timely fashion and records patients' progress.
• May perform minor surgical procedures such as wound care, suturing, joint aspirations and injections and administering immunizations.
• Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions. Discusses potential side effects of medication/treatment with patients and ensures that all allergy information is up-to-date before prescribing.
• Provides education and counseling to patients and their families that may improve their health or help to treat the health issue they are experiencing.
• Accurately records correct healthcare diagnoses to ensure correct billing.
• Stays current on the latest medical research, practices and procedures impacting family medicine.
• Adheres to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental and infection control standards.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
• Completes administrative assignments as requested by Medical Director and partners with providers within practice to ensure a collaborative environment.
• Actively participates in monthly provider team meetings and performance reviews with Medical Director.
Qualifications
• Completed 3 year primary care residency
• Board Certified/Board Eligible in a ABMS recognized primary care specialty
• Full unrestricted Florida License, (Full or ACN) or eligible to apply for one
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS)
• Fully bilingual (English/Spanish)
• EMR, eClinical Works experience preferred
• Prior experience in primary care, geriatric population, Medicare Advantage
