Job Title: Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) – Locum Tenens
Location: Southern Virginia
Practice Setting: Outpatient Primary Care with Rotating Specialties
📅 Coverage Dates & Schedule:

Start Date: As soon as credentialed

Duration: Approximately 9 months or more

Schedule: 3 days/week – 8-hour shifts

Call: None
🏥 Practice Overview:
-
Outpatient-only setting with no hospital or ED call responsibilities
-
Serving a diverse population: adult, pediatric, newborn, and geriatric patients
-
Average Daily Volume: 20 patients
-
Exam Rooms: 6
-
On-site services: Lab, POC testing, phlebotomy
-
EMR: Epic
-
No OB care, trauma designation, or inpatient codes required
🩺 Required Clinical Skills & Procedures:
Adult Outpatient Care:
-
Management of chronic and acute conditions
-
No ICU/CCU care involved
Pediatric Care:
-
General outpatient visits and newborn care
Basic Gynecology (preferred, not required):
-
Pelvic exams
-
Pap smears
Minor Surgical Procedures:
-
Suturing minor lacerations
-
Incision & drainage (I&D)
Mental Health:
-
Management of uncomplicated adult behavioral health concerns
-
On-site BH provider available for support

Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible – Required

Active Virginia License – Required (must already be in process to be considered)

BLS Certification – Required
