We are the largest independent medical group in the Southeast, Georgia’s most awarded primary care practice, and a regional leader in value-based care. Our model is built around a simple philosophy: put physicians first so they can put patients first.
Independence matters. At SEMG, physicians have the opportunity to practice within a growing, sophisticated healthcare organization without losing the autonomy, relationships, and purpose that make primary care rewarding. We invest heavily in clinical support, technology, AI-enabled tools, care coordination, and operational resources designed to reduce administrative burden and give physicians more time with patients — and more time outside of work.

A Primary Care Organization Built for Physicians
Southeast Medical Group includes approximately 55 primary care practices across Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and South Carolina, with approximately 85 employed physicians and 100 advanced practice practitioners. Our broader network includes approximately 853 affiliated providers through our ACO and IPAs across 467 affiliated locations, giving our physicians the resources and scale of a large healthcare organization while maintaining the independence and patient relationships that define great primary care.
Our roots in primary care date back to 1988. Today, SEMG continues to grow around a value-based model focused on prevention, early intervention, chronic disease management, care coordination, patient engagement and better health outcomes.
More Medicine. Less Administrative Burden.
We believe physicians should spend their time practicing medicine — not fighting administrative complexity.
SEMG continues to invest in technology, AI, clinical resources, centralized support services and care-management infrastructure that reduce unnecessary administrative work and allow physicians to focus on their patients. Our goal is straightforward: support physicians clinically, operationally and financially while protecting the work-life balance necessary for a sustainable career in medicine.
The Opportunity
As an SEMG Primary Care Physician, you will provide comprehensive outpatient primary care to an established and growing patient population. Physicians diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, provide preventive care, manage long-term health needs, coordinate specialty care and develop trusted relationships with patients and their families. This is outpatient primary care with no obstetrics, no hospital admitting and no night coverage. Physicians are supported by advanced practice providers, medical assistants, patient-service teams, laboratory capabilities, care-management resources and centralized operational support. Our value-based care model allows physicians to look beyond a single office visit and focus on improving the overall health of their patient population.
What We're Looking For
Candidates must hold a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree, successfully complete an accredited Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency, and be Board Certified through ABFM or ABIM. A current, valid and unrestricted Georgia medical license and DEA registration are required for Georgia-based positions, or candidates must be eligible to obtain them. Successful physicians will share our commitment to patient-centered care, preventive medicine, clinical quality, collaboration and value-based healthcare. Experience working within a managed-care or value-based environment is beneficial, but a genuine interest in practicing high-quality, relationship-driven primary care is equally important.
Build Your Practice. Build Your Career. Keep Your Life.
If you're looking for a primary care organization where physicians are valued, productivity is rewarded, administrative burdens are reduced and work-life balance is more than a recruiting slogan, we should talk. Whether you're an experienced primary care physician, relocating to Georgia, or seeking J-1/H-1B sponsorship, Southeast Medical Group offers the infrastructure, resources and independence to build a long-term career.
