Job description
A community-focused healthcare organization in southeast Kansas, near the Missouri and Oklahoma borders is looking to add a full-time Primary Care Physician to its team. BE/BC physicians with a background in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Internal Medicine/Pediatrics are encouraged to apply.
Position Highlights:
- Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care including preventive, acute and chronic care
- Manage patient conditions through coordinated care plans and appropriate follow-up
- Collaborate with behavioral health providers and other members of the care team
- Provide referrals to internal specialists and external community resources as needed
- Prescribe medications and provide clinical consultation to other providers
- Opportunity to supervise APPs and medical students, as assigned
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and help maintain high standards of patient care
- Serve a diverse, underserved patient population in a community-oriented setting
- Participate in an after-hours call system, including care for the organization's inpatient population, as assigned
Qualifications:
- Full licensure to practice medicine in Kansas and/or Oklahoma
- Graduation from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an appropriate residency
- Board Certified in the appropriate specialty
- Strong community/public health orientation preferred
- Commitment to serving underserved populations
