INTERNAL MEDICINE – GERIATRIC MEDICINE
Employment Type: Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY
The Department seeks a geriatric medicine specialist to join a multidisciplinary team providing care across post-acute, long-term care, and assisted living settings. The role focuses on oversight of complex older adult patients within multiple residential facilities and includes close collaboration with advanced practice professionals. The position supports a large referral base and contributes to a coordinated model of geriatric care.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine and/or Geriatric Medicine.
• Residency training in internal medicine.
• Training or experience in Geriatric Medicine.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Illinois.
• Interest in managing older adults in post-acute and long-term care environments.
COMPETENCIES
• Ability to manage chronic, complex, and geriatric syndromes across residential care settings.
• Skill in collaborating with advanced practice professionals and nursing staff.
• Effective communication with interdisciplinary teams and facility partners.
• Commitment to patient-centered geriatric care.
• Capacity to support a busy, facility-based clinical practice.
WORK SETTING & ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment: Long-Term Care/Facility; Outpatient; Clinic/Private Practice
• Care delivery across post-acute, long-term care, and assisted living/memory care settings.
• Collaboration with geriatricians, advanced practice professionals, and nursing staff.
• Use of industry-standard EMR shared with local hospital systems.
• Weekday schedule with facility-based call support for assigned patients.
• Opportunities for teaching and academic involvement.
