Internal Medicine Residency Faculty – Geriatric Specialist

  • We are seeking a Board-Certified Geriatrician to serve as the Geriatrics Sub-Specialty Education (SSE) Coordinator for a new Internal Medicine Residency Program in South Carolina. This program will welcome its first residents in July 2026, and the SSE will play a pivotal role in shaping the geriatrics curriculum and mentoring future physicians.

Position Highlights

  • Faculty Role: 0.05 FTE administrative / 0.95 FTE clinical.
  • Clinical Practice: 50% outpatient geriatrics (consults & follow-ups) and 50% precepting internal medicine residents in the residency clinic.
  • Educational Leadership: Develop and oversee the geriatrics curriculum, lecture series, and resident education in collaboration with the Program Director.

Position Requirements

  • Board Certified in Geriatric Medicine (ABIM or ABFM).
  • Eligible for full medical licensure in South Carolina.
  • Eligible for unrestricted Active Medical Staff privileges.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Prior teaching or administrative experience preferred, but not required.
