We are the medical directors for the intensivist program at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, Ohio.  We’re proud of the critical care practice we have built and welcome interest from intensivists desiring part-time or PRN work to explore working with our group. We’d like to share more about it, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider options:

People
  • We are a small team of 2 full-time and 1 part-time intensivist covering day shifts in the medical and CVICU units.
  • Combined, we hold over 32 years of critical care practice experience.
  • This is a teaching hospital with internal medicine and emergency medicine residency programs.
  • We are seeking board-certified, practicing critical care physicians interested in assisting with helping to grow the intensivist program and support the internal medicine residency program.
Practice
  • We provide care to medical, surgical, and cardiothoracic patients in the co-managed ICU with 1 physician onsite during the day with internal medicine residents.
  • Night coverage is an onsite senior internal medicine resident with an ICU intern and Sound tele-ICU who has oversight of the ICU internal medicine resident.
  • Hospitalists are on-site at night.
  • Daily census ranges and is variable. Average of 8-14.
  • Services include CRRT/HD, Impella, structural heart program with all capabilities, and TAVR.
  • We work together to make a monthly schedule that we can all agree upon.
  • Compensation is $2,640 per shift (12 hour onsite).
  • Annual productivity bonus and commencement bonus included.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
  • We are looking for an experienced board-certified critical care physician with prior experience or interest in teaching.
  • This candidate will demonstrate the ability to independently assess, examine, and provide care to critically ill patients in the ICU including procedures such as central lines, intubations, arterial lines, and chest tubes.
  • They will present and participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds in the ICU, work autonomously and multitask within the critical care team, and commit to excellence in clinical service while demonstrating problem-solving abilities necessary to best serve our patients.

Market Street Bridge, a prominent landmark built entirely by the Steubenville Bridge Company in 1905, crosses the Ohio River.
