Job description
We are seeking an experienced Infectious Disease Physician or HIV-experienced physician to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team in New York City. The ideal candidate will be Infectious Disease trained and board certified or have significant experience caring for patients living with HIV. NY Medicaid credentialing is required.
This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who is passionate about providing comprehensive, evidence-based primary care to a diverse patient population, including recent immigrants to the United States.
Job Responsibilities
o Evaluation and management of acute and chronic medical conditions for adults
o Advising patients on treatment recommendations, lifestyle modifications, and age-appropriate
preventive screenings
o Ordering and analyzing necessary diagnostic tests using high value care principles and EBM to inform
clinical decision-making
o Prescribing appropriate treatment and/or medication in an evidence-based manner and within the
scope of licensure
o Referring patients for consultant services when necessary
• Engage in health promotion activities
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records about each patient, including observations during examinations
• Complete EMR documentation, billing, and patient-related paperwork in a timely manner, we use ECW
• Comfort working with diverse populations including recent immigrants to the United States
• Participate in night and weekend call shared among clinicians
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team
• Attend and participate in clinic, provider, and all staff meetings
• Participate in pre-visit planning activities with the other members of the care team
• Participate in center wide and clinic-specific quality improvement projects and PEER Review
• Participate in appropriate certification/maintenance of certification and continuing medical education activities
Qualifications
• Successful completion of an accredited residency training program in internal medicine or family medicine
• BC/BE in specialty
• Current and valid NYS license
• Current DEA certificate
• Updated BLS and infection control certificate
• Excellent bedside manner
• Proficiency in Spanish or an South east Asian language is preferred
• Working knowledge of primary HIV medical care and LGBTQI care is a plus
