This role provides specialized inpatient and outpatient care, managing complex infections and supporting antimicrobial stewardship. This role provides specialized inpatient and outpatient care, managing complex infections and supporting antimicrobial stewardship. Ideal for physicians with infectious disease expertise and a passion for improving patient outcomes and public health.
Responsibilities as the Physician (Infectious Disease):
- Patient Care: Diagnose and treat infectious diseases such as HIV, hepatitis, STIs, TB, and hospital-acquired infections.
- Care Management: Provide consultations, oversee treatment plans, and coordinate care for acute and chronic conditions.
- Infection Control: Implement CDC protocols, monitor prevention measures, and advise on risk reduction strategies.
- Antimicrobial Stewardship: Guide evidence-based prescribing and promote initiatives to reduce antibiotic resistance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with primary care providers, specialists, and care teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Education: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution required.
- Licensure: Must hold a valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of New York and possess an active DEA license.
- Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Diseases.
- Experience: 1+ years of post-residency experience in infectious disease, with proven ability to manage patients of all ages independently in a clinical setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in eClinicalWorks or similar EHR systems.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills with excellent communication, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.
