Job Overview

We are seeking qualified Internal Medicine and Family Medicine Hospitalists for an exciting locum tenens opportunity at a community hospital in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Both daytime and nocturnist positions are available, offering 12-hour shifts, no call responsibilities, and comprehensive specialty support.

Schedule & Coverage

• Day Shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

• Night Shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

• No call requirements

• Open ICU environment

• Approximately 5–6 nightly admissions

• Approximately 55 daily encounters across the facility

• 25 hospital beds covered

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient hospital medicine services

• Manage admissions and ongoing patient care

• Work in an open ICU environment

• Demonstrate competency in intubation, central line placement, and arterial line placement

• Collaborate with advanced practice providers and specialty consultants

Qualifications

• MD or DO with an accredited Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency

• Board Certified or Board Eligible through ABIM, ABFM, or AOA

• Active, unrestricted Ohio medical license

• Ohio DEA registration with Schedules II–V

• Current ACLS and BLS certifications

• At least 24 inpatient encounters as an attending within the previous 12 months, or recent residency/fellowship completion

• Family Medicine physicians must have completed a one-year Hospitalist Fellowship or documented at least 100 inpatient encounters within the past 12 months

• Must qualify for open ICU privileges and demonstrate required procedural competencies
